Across the Mid-Ohio Valley, roughly 278,000 workers aged 50–64 are expected to exit the workforce by 2040, while only 155,000 young residents will be in a position to enter it. To address this 123,000-worker gap—a challenge far too large for any single institution—Washington State College of Ohio and SHP facilitated Workforce30, a study that quickly grew into a regional effort uniting K-12 leaders, career-tech partners, non-profits, and local government around a shared plan for the future.
